Acceptance of Terms

By using the services of Woof N Whiskers LTD ("the Clinic," "we," "our," or "us"), you ("Client" or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Clinic. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Veterinary Services

Professional Standards

We provide veterinary services in accordance with accepted veterinary standards and practices in Mauritius. Our veterinarians are licensed professionals committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care.

Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship

A valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship must exist before we can provide medical advice or treatment. This relationship is established through examination of your pet by one of our veterinarians.

Appointments and Services

Appointment Scheduling

  • Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Emergency cases take priority over scheduled appointments
  • We require 24-hour notice for appointment cancellations
  • Multiple no-shows may result in requiring prepayment for future appointments

Service Limitations

We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe the safety of our staff or other animals may be compromised, or if previous invoices remain unpaid.

Payment Terms

Payment Policy

  • Payment is due at the time services are provided
  • We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers
  • Estimates are provided for procedures but final costs may vary
  • Payment plans may be available for major procedures with prior arrangement

Overdue Accounts

Accounts not paid within 30 days may be subject to collection procedures and additional fees. Outstanding balances may result in suspension of services until payment is made.

Client Responsibilities

Pet Care and Safety

  • You are responsible for the behavior and safety of your pet while at the clinic
  • You must disclose your pet's complete medical history and any behavioral issues
  • You must follow all post-treatment care instructions provided
  • You must keep your pet restrained and under control at all times

Information Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate and complete information about your pet's health, behavior, and medical history. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect treatment outcomes.

Treatment Consent and Risks

Informed Consent

You acknowledge that no veterinary procedure is 100% successful, and complications may arise. We will explain proposed treatments, associated risks, and alternatives when applicable.

Emergency Treatment

In emergency situations where you cannot be reached, we may provide necessary treatment to save your pet's life or prevent suffering, with your consent to emergency care on file.

Medical Records and Privacy

Record Ownership

Medical records are the property of the clinic but you have the right to access and receive copies of your pet's records upon request and payment of applicable fees.

Confidentiality

We maintain the confidentiality of your pet's medical information in accordance with professional standards and applicable privacy laws.

Liability and Insurance

Professional Liability

The clinic maintains professional liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the reasonable value of the services provided, and we are not responsible for consequential damages.

Client Responsibility

You are responsible for any injury or damage caused by your pet to persons or property while at the clinic. You agree to indemnify the clinic against such claims.

Prescription Medications

Prescription Policy

  • Prescription medications require a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship
  • Prescriptions may require regular examinations to monitor your pet's health
  • We do not provide prescription medications without appropriate medical justification
  • Some medications may require special handling or storage instructions

Disputes and Resolution

Complaint Procedure

If you have concerns about our services, please speak with the clinic manager or veterinarian immediately. We are committed to resolving issues promptly and professionally.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Mauritius.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
